    Welcoming the New Roman Missal

The Church has urged us to use this time of waiting for the new Roman Missal to do some serious study and reflection asking ourselves, "Why do we do what we do at our celebration of the Eucharist?"  We are providing information that will help you come to this deeper understanding of the Liturgy of the Church.

Preparing for the New Translation

Fr. Allen Moran, O.P.

As we learn and become familiar with our responses in the new translations of the Roman Missal, let us not forget that the prayers of the priest are also changing.  The following is a series of weekly articles that contain the priest and the people’s translation along with history and commentary on the translation of the ordinary of the Mass.  Fr. Allen Moran is a priest of the Dominican Fathers, Province of St. Joseph.  These articles are posted on the Friar Blog by Fr. Pius Pietrzyk, O.P. at

Our dream began in 1991 with a diverse congregation coming mainly from St. Lawrence, St. Matthias, St. Isidore and St. John Vianney.  So, it is only fitting that our church is made up of diverse pieces from other parishes in our parts.

Beginning 1991 Fr. Tom and others began to canvas parishes in metro Detroit .... more ...
